World-renowned rock climbing at Shongweni Dam

A world-renowned rock-climbing venue can be found at Shongweni Dam near Durban. This rock climbing venue has a wealth of good quality KwaZulu Natal Group Sandstone offering some of the finest overhangs imaginable.

Apart from the excellent walls there are two marvellous overhangs: "The Wave Cave" and "The Rasta Cave", which are rated in the 30's(SA); 5.13 (USA); 8 (France).
